This is caused by low or contaminated transmission fluid, damaged gears, failing bearings, a worn torque converter, misaligned gear sets, or a failing transmission pump, all of which can disrupt proper lubrication and gear engagement.
Delayed or rough shifting

Kevin and his crew did an analysis of engine troubles that had led to an engine that was totally burned out. Though it was a surprising shock to hear that diagnosis, Kevin assisted us in locating a warranty extension that had been issued to the car. Without his help and research, we would not have been able to seek out and confirm that the car was covered under these conditions and that the manufacturer will replace the engine for no out-of-pocket cost to us. That is the kind of help that goes beyond the scope of regular work with customers. My brakes were making my car un-driveable, and they were able to get them all repaired same day.
They were very helpful and professional. Found a weird but easy to fix problem with our mini cooper and fixed it quick and without further charges. Also provided a complete health check for the car, estimates for future work, and checked in with us days later to make sure everything was ok. Will go to them again.

I have gone to this place a few times in the past, I had interacted with Kevin each time I was there. It was the holiday season and they where a little busy, I needed new breaks and new parts for the engine, originally it was thought that I’d be ready in January 3rd, unfortunately I was to move out of Portland on the 1st so I needed my car. I explained the situation to Kevin who was very professional and transparent, he was able to get things fixed for me sooner so that I’d be able to move out on time. Itd be easy for other people in his position to just throw their hands up and say “it is what it is” but he went the extra mile to as helpful and dexterous as possible, which shows that which shows that Art of Maintenance is committed to helping their customers.

Art of maintenance Was so helpful when I broke down on The freeway . I was able to get my Toyota in Diagnosed and repaired in the same day !
