Engine Replacement
When an engine reaches the end of its road, a full replacement can be the smartest way forward.

Engine Replacement Services
A Smarter Way to Handle Engine Replacement
At Art of Maintenance, engine replacement is treated as a precision service, not a rushed repair. Before any work begins, our technicians take time to confirm that replacement is truly the best option. We look at engine wear, internal damage, repair history, and overall vehicle health to ensure this solution brings real value, not temporary relief.
Once approved, the focus shifts to integration. An engine does not work alone, so we carefully evaluate cooling systems, fuel delivery, sensors, and electrical connections. This attention to detail helps the new engine operate smoothly and prevents old problems from following it. The result is a vehicle that feels balanced, responsive, and reliable, not patched together. Communication stays clear throughout the process. You’ll understand what’s being replaced, why it matters, and how it supports long-term performance. This thoughtful approach ensures your investment delivers lasting results rather than another round of repairs.

Signs Your Vehicle May Need Engine Replacement
Some engine issues go beyond routine fixes. If multiple symptoms appear together, replacement can often be safer and more cost-effective than continued repairs. These warning signs often indicate deeper internal failure:
Loud knocking, tapping, or grinding sounds
Loud knocking or grinding noises from an engine can be caused by issues such as worn bearings, low or dirty oil leading to poor lubrication, detonation (abnormal combustion), loose or damaged internal components, or problems with belts, pulleys, or the transmission system.
Thick smoke from the exhaust
Thick smoke from the exhaust during operation can be caused by burning oil from worn piston rings or valve seals (blue smoke), excess fuel from a faulty injector or rich mixture (black smoke), or coolant entering the combustion chamber due to a blown head gasket or cracked engine component (white smoke).
Severe or repeated overheating
Severe or repeated overheating can be caused by a failing thermostat, a malfunctioning water pump, blocked or leaking radiator passages, a blown head gasket, air trapped in the cooling system, or internal engine damage that impairs heat dissipation.
Oil mixed with coolant or milky residue
Oil mixing with coolant or visible residue can be caused by a failing head gasket, a cracked engine block or cylinder head, or a damaged oil cooler, all of which can allow fluids to leak and mix within the engine.
Damage caused by timing belt or chain failure
A broken or slipped timing belt can throw off valve timing—allowing pistons and valves to collide in interference engines—or because damaged internal parts such as valves, pistons, or connecting rods can no longer move in proper synchronization, leading to catastrophic mechanical failure.
Frequent breakdowns despite ongoing repairs
Ongoing repairs without lasting improvement can result from misdiagnosed underlying issues, poor-quality or temporary fixes, failure to address root causes, compounding damage from unresolved problems, or the cumulative effect of multiple worn components in an aging system.
Engine seizure or failure to turn over
A sudden engine seizure or failure to start can be caused by fuel delivery issues such as a failed fuel pump or clogged injectors, ignition system failures like a faulty crankshaft sensor or spark plugs, electrical problems including a dead battery or damaged wiring, or severe internal engine damage such as a broken timing belt or seized components.
Constant loss of power or stalling
Loss of power and constant stalling can be caused by worn or damaged piston rings, leaking or burnt valves, a blown head gasket, or timing issues that prevent the engine from maintaining proper combustion pressure.

great group of guys that do incredible work! will definitely be back
Great place and great management!
These guys are the best, excellent, friendly and super efficient service. We pretty much only bring our cars here!
Would definitely recommend. Kevin was very friendly and knowledgeable of what the issue was with my truck. They had me back on the road in no time.
Referred here by a friend who has been having her truck fixed by Art of Maintenance for years. They were clear on their policies of sanitizing touch points–which at this time is important and was much appreciated. They were helpful on the phone, got me in next day, and had everything fixed up within a few hours. They provided great work that felt fair & friendly. I plan to come back here for any mechanical needs.
Great and fast service. Got me back on the road asap.
This place was great. They helped go through every concern with my vehicle inspection and gave great advice on how to proceed. I had a quick, professional, comprehensive, and friendly experience and will absolutely be coming back. Shout-out to James for going over everything with me and Robert for all the hard work.
Been taking my car here for a few years for oil changes, etc., and it’s always gone well. Noticed one of my tires was dangerously low on air today and drove it straight there. Even though it was almost closing time, the folks at Art of Maintenance pulled my car into the garage and thoroughly checked and fixed my tires. I really appreciated their quick service to make sure my car was safe to drive.
I had issues with a coolant leak. I was able to drop my car off late at night (using the key drop), they promptly got a hold of me in the morning with an assessment and quote, and everything was finished that day. Very quick, professional, and friendly staff.
These guys are great. They are honest, quick and they do good work. Customer service is outstanding as well!
Got me in and out the door with repairs to my Saab. Friendly service and reassurance offered as I drove my car to the shop. My new mechanic!
The staff were very helpful and friendly. Top Notch!
